(Parents:  please pick your child up in his/her classroom.)   

  • 3 yr. olds – 2nd grade meet in the Promiseland area to sing and have snack time then go to their classrooms.
  • 3rd & 4th Grade will meet in the Bible Drill Room #21.
  • 5th – 12th Grade will meet in their respective classrooms.
  • 3rd grade – 12th grade meet in respective classrooms.
  • An adult small group will meet in the Room 37.
  • An adult current events class will meet in the Consistory Room.
  • Nursery is available upon request.  

4:30 – 6:00 P.M.  JOURNEY will meet in the Fireside Room. Snacks – Gwen Walstra

6:45 P.M.  DARTBALL will be at Sorrowful Mother.  
7:00 P.M.  JOY CIRCLE will meet in the Youth Room where Barb Hoffman will lead the lesson.  Kathy Veld will have devotions and Spiritual Life while Lola Arnett serves refreshments.  
7:00 P.M.  EVE CIRCLE will meet in the Fireside Room where Pam Schultz will lead the lesson, Phyllis Belstra will lead devotions and Lori Meiss will host. 
7:00 P.M.  FAITH CIRCLE will meet in Room 16.  Rachel Fase will lead the lesson and Amy Kohlhagen will host.
TUESDAY – February 27
6:00 & 7:15 P.M.  FAITHFIT YOGA will be in the Fellowship Hall.
7:00 P.M.  EVANGELISM COMMITTEE will meet in the Consistory Room.  Members are:  Marv Peterson, Roy Gouwens, Jonathan Hart, Kyle Kohlhagen, Matt Kallemeyn, Mike and/or Liz Bayci.  New members wanted.
WEDNESDAY – February 28
1:00 – 3:00 P.M.  GOD’S UNIQUE ANTIQUES will meet in the Fireside Room.  If you are retired and have some extra time on your hands, please join us.  We usually play a game and have refreshments.
FAMILY NIGHT 

  • DINNER will be served from 5:15 – 6:30 P.M.  Menu:  pork roast, potatoes, green beans, rolls, veggies and dip, salad, ice cream   
  • FOOD BACKPACKS will be stuffed in the Fellowship Hall at 6:00. 
  • GOD’S ANGELS CHOIR (Kindergarten – 5th grade) practice in basement from 6:15 – 6:45.

THURSDAY – March 1
7:00 P.M.  HOPE CIRCLE will meet in the Fireside Room.  Karen Nannenga will lead the lesson, Crystal Rose will provide Devotions/Spiritual Life Thought and Pennie Martin and Ann Van Schepen will host.

NEXT LORD’S DAY – March 4
9:30 A.M.  WORSHIP
THE REGULAR OFFERING will be received for the General Fund and the second offering will be for Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

WE EXPRESS sympathy to the Dave & Audrey Jolink Family and all family and friends of the passing of Audrey’s mother and our sister in Christ, Anna Mae Ruisard.  Anna Mae went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 19.  Services were held this past Friday at church.

WE EXPRESS sympathy to the Keith Bakker Family, the Tony & Judy Jonkman Family, Ellen Kenning, Bob & Edie Bakker, Barb DeVries and all family and friends on the passing of our sister in Christ, Linda Bakker.  Linda went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 19.  Services were held yesterday at Jackson Funeral Service.

IMPACT PARENTS:  Immediately after worship today, please meet in the wing for an informational meeting regarding this summer's mission trip to Detroit, MI.  

JOURNEY PARENTS:  Please send the BELIEVE trip deposit and have all permission slips turned in today.  Thank you!

EASTER FLOWER ORDERS ARE DUE TODAY!  Order forms can be found in the kitchen window.  Please turn in your form to Jerry & Diane Veld’s mailbox today.

THERE ARE 14 green chairs left in the Consistory Room for anyone who would like to have them on a first come first serve basis.  If you can use them or know of an organization that can, please help yourself.  If you need assistance with moving them, please let the church office know.  Any chairs not claimed by March 5 will be disposed of.

VBS 2018 is coming and we once again need your help to make it a success!  This year’s theme is "Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus" and the dates are June 11-15.  We have 10 leadership positions to fill and we need 20 adults and 20 high school age teens to serve as crew leaders.  There is a sign-up table in the Fellowship Hall this morning where you can get more information and also sign up.  Sign up to help us make this year's VBS the best yet!!

DEMOTTE ELEMENTARY is in need of school supplies for students.  Throughout the year, the school office likes to keep supplies stocked for students in need and unable to afford supplies.  Supply donations may be put in the box in the Promiseland area under the “Fruits of the Spirit Tree” wall painting.  Specific items requested are:  stick glue, crayons (24 pack), pocket folders (plastic), pencil boxes, kid scissors, and dry erase markers (black).

WE HAVE OPPORTUNITY to partner with Jardin de Gracia (www.jardindegracia.com)- a Christian school located in the mountains of Honduras- to show God's love by providing the school children with gifts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.  If you are interested in participating, there are plastic shoe boxes with instructions in the Fellowship Hall.  Boxes are due by March 2 to allow time for shipment to Honduras. If you have questions, please ask Liz Bayci.

CAMP MANITOQUA REGISTRATION FOR 2018 IS OPEN!  This year’s theme is “Thrive” based on Colossians 3:17.  Church will again pay 2/3 for members and non-members.  You can register at manitoqua.org.  Informational brochures are available in the kitchen window.  Please call the church office for the coupon code.  Camp spaces fill up fast so registering ASAP is essential to get your first date selection.

OTHER REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE CHICKEN BUS DINNER will be held as a fundraiser for DMC athletics on Monday, February 26 from 5:00 - 6:30 P.M. at DeMotte Christian Grade School.  Since there is no admission fee to games, there is a need for funding the referees for the athletic events.  The Chicken Dinner is one way to cover this cost.  The dinner price is $8 for adults, $4 for children up to 8th grade, and children under 3 years old are FREE.  Included in the meal:  broasted chicken, potato wedges, coleslaw, rolls, homemade desserts, milk, coffee and lemonade!  Carry-outs available.

SPRING LUNCHEON:  THURSDAY, MARCH 22, 2018 – 11:30 A.M.  Bible League Volunteers invite you to their Spring Luncheon at Teibel’s Restaurant.  Our soloist is Sarah Van Drunen.  An offering will be taken for Bibles for Latin America.  Call your key contact person, Barb DeVries (987-5192) by the deadline, March 19, for your reservation.  Tickets are $18 for chicken and $22 for perch.

DMC TEACHER OPENING:  DeMotte Christian School is looking for a full-time 5th grade teacher for the 2018-2019 school year.  Applicants must hold at least a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, agree fully with the school’s statement of beliefs, is an active member of a church with a Reformed persuasion, and demonstrate the ability to teach children well.   If you are interested in applying for the position, please send a resume and application to Mr. Brinks, Principal, at dbrinks@dmcs-in.org  or contact the school office at (219)987-3721.  An application can be found on the school website (www.dmchr.org).
