HAVE YOU THOUGHT about running or walking for Team World Vision?  We would LOVE to have you with us as we bring clean water to communities in need in underdeveloped countries.  The images and the thought of children and people suffering for lack of clean water and those joyful images of those who have received the gift of clean water from World Vision is why we do this.  Consider participating by running (or walking) a Half or running a Full Marathon – or supporting Team World Vision by contributing to an individual runner or the team.  We will participate in the Indy Monumental Marathon on November 9.  Official training starts on July 6, but runners can jump into training any time!  We have optional group runs at 6:00 A.M. in DeMotte on Saturday mornings.  ARC currently has 11 members registered to run or walk, so we would love to have you help build our team. You can register at  teamworldvision.org (search American Reformed Church once on the site).  You can also speak with Team Captain, Kevin Nelms or any team member to learn more.

COMING EVENTS:

The Fellowship Committee is looking at some possible upcoming events to schedule and would like to see how much interest there is for each event.  They include:

·         Bowling Night

·         Sporting Event (baseball or hockey)

·         Golf Outing

·         Purdue Christmas Choir Concert set for December 7

Please sign up on the sheets down by the kitchen to indicate which of these events you would be interested in attending.  This will help us get a better idea on which events to schedule.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY:  The Back-to-School-Fair will take place at Spencer Park on August 3, 2019. ARC plans to hand out packages of 100 page, wide-lined paper to children. We expect to hand out 700+ packages. If you can provide any number of these packages, please sign up by the Kitchen.  Donations can be left in the Fireside Room.

LET’S GET TOGETHER IS BACK!  The Get Together program is designed to strengthen ties and promote fellowship and unity. They are one time get-togethers with a group of people from our church. They are also a great opportunity to invite newcomers who would like to meet a group of ARC people.  Hosts choose the theme of the get-together:  taco night, bonfire, cards, pizza, cookout, potluck, game night...!  The committee will help generate a list of people and give invitations to the hosts to fill out and put in mailboxes.  If one shows up in your mailboxes and it works out for you, join the fun!  Thank you to those who have hosted events!  More hosts are needed.  If you would like to consider hosting, please call or text Kristi at 987-5195 or 219-964-9957 or Donna at 987-4289 or 219-739-9824 or pick up the information on the table in the kitchen hallway, fill out the host volunteer form and put it back in the tray marked “Get Together”.  Let’s be deliberate in growing together as an ARC family.

WOULD YOU LIKE to receive ARC updates and cancellation info via text message?  Just text @demottearc to 81010 to sign up!

IF YOU KNOW of someone who needs help from Christians Helping Christians, please contact Bonnie Sanow (987-6252).
