HAVE YOU CONSIDERED hosting an ARC Get Together?  Now is the time to volunteer.  The Get Together program is in need of additional hosts to open their homes for a time of fellowship with a group of ARC family.  You choose the date and type of get together you’d like to have, and the committee will provide you with a list of people and some invitations.  Host a cookout, game night, carry-in, pizza party, dessert night…  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Kristi (219-964-9957) or Donna (987-4289 or 219-730-9824).  What a blessing to be part of a wonderful church family.  Let’s be deliberate in connecting and growing together.

KIDS HOPE USAWe are excited to continue building relationships with the students, teachers and staff at DeMotte Elementary and KV Intermediate Schools.  Last year was a great school year, and we are confident we will need more mentors who can invest one hour each week                                                                                  in the life of one child.  Training is provided.  Will you be the one to help change the life of a child?  If you are interested in being a mentor, substitute mentor or prayer partner, please pick up an application packet from the table by the kitchen.  Completed applications can be returned directly to Kara Nanninga or Heather Veld or put in either of their mailboxes.  Questions?  Talk to or email Kara (;219-805-9926) or Heather (; 219-869-3403).

TRAINING IS UNDERWAY!  Please continue to pray for our runners as they train for the Indy Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon in November.  They are working with Team World Vision to help raise money for clean water for communities in need in underdeveloped countries.  If you’d like to donate, go online to Team World Vision and search American Reformed Church.  You can donate on behalf of a specific runner or the team as a whole.

DEMOTTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL will begin their 73rd year on August 14 at 7:45 A.M.  We extend an invitation to our parents, grandparents, and society members to join us for the opening chapel our first day of school at 8:10 A.M. in the All-purpose Room.  We ask that you continue to uphold DMC in your daily prayers as we celebrate 73 years of God’s blessings!

WATCH FOR FLAMINGOS making their landing in the yards of Knights’ basketball supporters!  Our lady Knights have three flocks of birds taking flight on August 3.  If the birds nest in your yard, follow the contact instructions attached to the flamingos to have them removed in exchange for a donation.  Have a donation ready to send the birds off to a new destination of your choosing – you choose a Knights fan to be the next recipient of the birds as this game continues.  The Knights flocks will be migrating August 3-16.  The flamingos will make their final landing at Covenant Christian High School on August 17 for a car wash.  Bring your vehicle and our Lady Knights will suds up and clean up your vehicle for a free will donation.  The car wash will be at CCHS on Saturday, August 17 from 8:00-12:00.

JASPER COUNTY MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT:  You’re invited to the Rensselaer Central VS Kankakee Valley High School Football Game at Harrison Field in Rensselaer on Friday, August 23.  There will be free admission for veterans and a guest, and you are asked to arrive at about 6:15 P.M.  Sing the National Anthem with Jim Cornelison, singer for the Chicago Blackhawks.  This will be a memorable night and we hope to see all our veterans there!
