News for May 10, 2020

Be sure to watch Pastor Troy’s message online this Sunday at 9:30 A.M.  It can be accessed on our website (demottearc.com), our YouTube page or our Facebook page. We will also be posting a playlist of worship songs that Melissa put together at 9:00 A.M. on Facebook on Sunday morning (a link to this list will be emailed on Friday, 5-9 as well) so you can use those to worship together as a family.

WE LOOK FORWARD to worshipping together in person next Sunday, May 17.  Note the two service times of 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M.  Please refer to the guidelines that were sent out and call the church office with any questions. We will continue to post online messages at 9:30 A.M. on Sunday mornings for those who wish to remain home.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will resume normal office hours on May 11.  9:00 A.M.– 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

MEN’S LIFE will begin meeting again at church on Saturday, May 16 from 6:00 – 7:30 A.M.

HOMEMADE MASKS AVAILABLE:  We've placed baskets in the front entrance (door #8) with homemade masks for adults and children.  They are free to take for anyone who needs them. If you or someone you know is in need, please feel free to share!  Masks are available to pick up from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Mon. – Fri.

HOMEMADE MASKS WELCOME!  If you can make them and donate, please do!  We would like to keep each basket full so that no one walks away empty handed.  We have them specified in categories of adult, child, adult with glasses and child with glasses.  People with glasses tend to have them fog up while wearing a mask.  The masks that are better fitted with a pipe cleaner inserted at the top help to prevent this issue.  You can drop them off during the hours stated above.  We greatly appreciate any donations we receive!

THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS THIS MONDAY!!  Last year, we partnered with World Vision for the Global 6k.  Each person who participated provided clean water for a child somewhere in the world.  We are going to be doing the Global 6k again this year!

Here's what it's going to look like:

Date:  Saturday, May 16

Where: Wherever you want!

Due to Covid-19 restrictions we cannot have a large, in person event, but we can still move our feet for clean water on our own!  You can go for a walk or run in your neighborhood or in a park.  You can even walk or run around your house!   You just commit to walking or running 6k (just over 3.5 miles) sometime that day and you still provide clean water for a child in need.  Cost: $50/adult or $25/child   Each registration provides clean water for one child.  Here is a link where you can sign up to join our team!  We hope you will consider joining us to move our feet for clean water!      https://www.teamworldvision.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.team&teamID=13153

IF YOU HAVE someone graduating this year from college, high school or eighth grade, please contact the church office with his or her name and school.

DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE COVID PANDEMIC, VBS for 2020 has been cancelled.  This was a hard decision as we know many children look forward to this event and many teens and adults enjoy volunteering.  We appreciate your understanding and look forward to when we can safely hold VBS again.

ADDRESS UPDATE:  Keith & Dawn Poole have moved to 10448 S. Springboro Road, Brookston, IN 47923.  Their cell numbers have remained the same; Keith – 869-8585 and Dawn – 869-8586.

THANK YOU to all for your prayers and cards sent during my recent surgery.  I am feeling a lot better.”  – Bryan Overstreet

WE’RE STILL LOOKING FOR YOUR STORIES and/or memories about your time at ARC.  Please email your memories to the church office at office@demottearc.com.

WOULD YOU LIKE to receive ARC updates and cancellation info via text message?  Just text @demottearc to 81010 to sign up!

ONLINE GIVING is available through demottearc.com by clicking on the “Donate” link at the bottom of the home page.  You can set up a one-time gift or a recurring donation.  Donations may also be mailed in.  We believe that God will provide and one way that God does that is through the generosity of his people.  So, thank you for how you support ARC financially.

PLEASE NOTE:  There are various designates available to specify for your online giving such as the church’s different funds, the DeMotte Food Pantry, World Vision, Movement, RCWM, etc.
