MOBILE FOOD PANTRY:  This will be a drive-thru pantry due to Covid.  We will need about 10 volunteers to help pack boxes outside.  Volunteers are asked to arrive by 9:15 A.M.  Clients should arrive no earlier than 9:30 A.M.  If you would like to help, please sign up on the sheet in the kitchen window.

PALM SUNDAY – March 28

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

EASTER IS COMING!  Below is our Holy Week and Easter Schedule.  They will all be special services that you won’t want to miss!

Palm Sunday Worship:

             Next Sunday at 9:30 A.M., Shine.FM    

             will be with us in worship as they’ll be

             featuring us as their “Church of the

             Week”.  This year, we will serve     

             coffee and donuts on Palm Sunday

             and have an Easter Egg Hunt for kids

             up to 5th grade on the church’s back

             lawn after the service.

  • Maundy Thursday Service:

             Thursday, April 1 at 7:00 P.M. 

  • Easter Sunday: Worship at 9:30 A.M.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF KIDS 5TH GRADE AND YOUNGER:      Any children who would like to help us celebrate Palm Sunday are invited to gather in the Promiseland area downstairs before worship next Sunday where they will be given a Palm Branch to wave up front during the service. 

 ATTENTION PARENTS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS:  We are getting ready to send care packages to all our college students.  Please contact the church office with your student’s address whether they’re at home or away at school ASAP so we can begin sending soon!  Thanks!

GLOBAL 6K:  Save the day for the World Vision 2021 Global 6K on May 22.  Details to come        in April! 

CHURCH CAMPOUT 2021:  It’s time to make your reservations for the 2021 church campout!  The dates will be August 6, 7, and 8 at      Potato Creek State Park.  We would love to have new families, couples, and singles join us!! Making reservations now will help make it possible for us all to camp next to each other.  The Tysen Family has booked site #189.… a different site from last year.  If you have any questions or would just like to learn more about the campout, please call Leslie Tysen (219-863-3822). 

 ATTENTION PARENTS OF BIBLE ADVENTURES KIDS:    We now have our weekly videos and take-home sheets available on our website!  This gives kids an opportunity to watch the video again at home or see videos they missed!  There are printable coloring pages for Pre-K/K and printable Take Home Sheets for 1st – 5th grade.  Visit demottearc.com and go to the Children’s Ministry page.  There, you will find a link to the content (please note that the content page is password protected; the password is “adventures”.  New lessons will be posted weekly!

OTHER REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS

CCHS JUNIORS are having a coat drive!  They are bringing clean, gently-used coats to Michigan for Service Week.  There is a weatherproof container located at the CCHS front entrance doors under the carport.   Donors can easily drop off without having to come inside the school! Thank you in advance for your support.

DMCS ANNUAL SOCIETY MEETING (April 13):
DeMotte Christian Schools, Inc. strongly encourages you to attend the Annual Society Meeting on Tuesday, April 13, at 7:00pm at DeMotte Christian School OR via ZOOM. 

·         Society members will vote on the proposed advisory budget and new Board members.  The bylaws require that a member “be 18 years of age or older and have individually contributed a minimum of $50 to the school corporation in the 13 months prior to the publication of the agenda.” Parents with children enrolled at Covenant or DeMotte Christian have by default already met the    $50 contribution requirement but still need to sign the      membership affirmation.

·         If submitting an absentee ballot for Board member elections, a member must complete the election ballot and the member affirmation statement, place in a sealed envelope, sign the outside, and turn in to either school office.

·         Society booklets will be available in the CCHS main office and in the literature rack outside the DMC main office by Monday, March 29.  You may also call the school offices at 987-3721 and request one to be emailed to you.

CCHS TEACHING POSTIONS:  Covenant Christian High School is needing to fill the following teaching positions for the 2021-22       school year:

1.  Part-time Band/Choir Instructor 

2.  Spanish Teacher

3.  Ag Science Teacher

 DMC TEACHING POSITION:  DeMotte Christian Grade School is looking for a full-time teacher for the 2021-2022 school year to teach fourth grade.  Applicants must hold at least a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, agree fully with the school’s statement of beliefs, is an active member of a church with a Reformed persuasion, and demonstrates the ability to teach children well.   If you are interested in applying for the position, please send a resume and application to Devon Brinks, Principal, at dbrinks@dmcs-in.org  or contact the school office at (219)987-3721.  An application may also be found on the school website (www.demottechristianschools.org).

CAR WASHCovenant’s NHS is planning a Car Wash to sponsor activities for the elementary students that were prohibited due to COVID-19!  Plan for Saturday, April 10, from 8:30-11:30 A.M. in front of CCHS!  A freewill donation will be accepted.  

 RUMMAGE SALECovenant Christian High School invites everyone to their Spring Rummage Sale on Saturday, April 24 from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. in the school gym.  Only $7 per bag from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., and $2 per bag from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M.! To donate clean, gently used items for the sale, please bring them on Thursday, April 22 from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. at the back door or Friday, April 23 from 8:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the front door. Volunteers are needed to set up and sort on Thursday from 2:00 – 7:00 P.M. or Friday from 8:00 A.M. -4:00 P.M. Please call CCHS’s office at 219-987-7651 to sign up. Hope to see you there! *Please note that due to liability issues, children will not be allowed to accompany adult volunteers. A mask will be required for all volunteers and shoppers. 

 KAL-BRO GIFT CARD FUNDRAISERDeMotte Christian School students will be selling Kal-Bro gift cards just in time for Mother’s Day! The fundraiser begins April 7th and runs through April 22nd. Gift cards can be used at the DeMotte location and are offered in $25, $50, or $100 denominations. Please contact the school office at 219-987-3721 to place your order.
