BEGINNING TODAY: EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY SPIRITUALITY This will be a 9 week class led by Jill Kohlhagen that discovers what it means to bring emotional health into our faith journey. We will learn what emotionally unhealthy spirituality looks like, and how we can bring transformation into our relationships with Jesus, ourselves, and others. The class will be offered on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings beginning today and this week. A sign-up sheet is by the kitchen.
MEN’S LIFE is a men’s group that meets fall and spring on Saturdays from 6:00 – 7:30 A.M. in the Fireside Room. This year we have an exciting new video program by Author Craig Glass – Noble Journey. His vision is to see a growing community of men who: understand their identity in Christ, embrace their role as men, and live out the personal calling God has for their life. Men from our church and the community are invited to attend. The series will start on October 20th.
TEAM WORLD VISION will be having a bake sale on October 20 from 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. in Tysen’s entry. If you would like to support our team, you can donate goods to be sold that morning or drop them at ARC on Friday, October 19. If you are part of the team and could help out with donating goods or working the bake sale, please contact Liz Bayci at 869-4012. Thanks!
PLEASE JOIN US IN SUPPORTING our local community family, Dan & Jen Kaluf, on Saturday, October 27, 4:00 – 7:00 P.M., for a free will donation dinner at American Reformed Church. Dan has a rare genetic cancer that has spread to several organs, his treatments are every two weeks in Washington D.C. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.
COAT DRIVE: Boxes are in the Fireside Room now through October for your donations of coats, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, boots and gloves. Items collected will be distributed between The Crisis Center in Rensselaer and various shelters and soup kitchens in Lake County and Porter County in October and November. If you have questions please contact Bob & Phyllis Belstra.
“DEAR FOLKS AT ARC, I am so grateful for how our Heavenly Father continues to supply my needs through His people. Thank you for your monthly financial support as well as for the occasional gifts. I don't know who these donors are but God does and I know He will bless them for their giving spirit (as He does the church). May the Lord continue to bless the ministry of ARC! On Christ the solid rock I continue to stand! In Him, Jessie”

Let’s Get Together!
The new Fall season has begun at ARC. The “Get Together” program is ready for new hosts and repeat hosts to hold gatherings. Have you considered hosting? The program is in need of additional hosts in order to reach a greater amount of people. The purpose of “Get Together” is to strengthen ties with other ARC members, welcome newcomers and engage in fellowship and fun.
How does it work?
· STEP ONE: Hosts volunteer by filling out a form found in the Get Together tray on the table by the kitchen or by calling/texting Kristi (219-964-9957 or 987-5195) or Donna (219-730-9824 or 987-4289). Get togethers can be as simple or as involved as the host desires… bonfire, pizza night, carry-in dinner, coffee and cards… whatever’s comfortable!
· STEP TWO: The committee compiles a mix of people for a one-time get together for the host matching the type of gathering the host would like to hold and gives the host invitations to fill out.
· STEP THREE: The hosts fill out the invitations and put them in mailboxes.
· STEP FOUR: Guests reply to hosts. This is important for the hosts so they know how many to plan on. When you receive info about a Get Together, please let the host know whether or not you will be attending.
· STEP FIVE: The group Gets Together and enjoy some time with one another!
What a blessing to be part of the family of God here at ARC! Let’s be deliberate about forming relationships and intentional in showing interest in one another. Let’s Get Together!
