OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

WE EXPRESS sympathy to Gene & Kathy Veld as well as all family and friends on the passing of our brother in Christ, Bernard Veld.Bern went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 17. His family shared “We sincerely thank the congregation for their 95 years of caring and concern for him. He sincerely cared for his church and its members.”May God grant comfort to Bern’s family during this difficult time.

CONSISTORY NOMINATION BALLOTS were placed in your mailbox a couple of weeks ago.  Those ballots need to be returned by Sunday, October 6.  They can be placed in an envelope and handed to an elder as you leave worship or dropped off in the nomination box in the church office window.

TODAY IS THE DAY:  A new small group Bible study (Discipleship Essentials) starts today at 6:00 P.M.  ICEBREAKER tonight and we’ll start on Chapter One – Making Disciples.  We’ll meet in the kids’ large Promiseland area in the basement and nursery will be provided.

DARTBALL PRACTICE will be tomorrow night at 6:30 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall.  If you are interested in playing, please come and watch and feel free to try!

NEXT WEEK IS FAMILY SUNDAY!  On months that have a 5th Sunday, we invite all kids to join their families in worship on that 5th Sunday!  Nursery is still provided, however, we do not hold Children’s Church or Sunday School on those days.  This gives our kids a chance to worship alongside their parents and siblings and spend extra time with family.

KIDS WORSHIP LEADER NEEDED!  We are looking for a song leader for Children’s Church.  We hope to find someone passionate about worship and teaching our little ones how to worship God.  This person would fill the final spot on our rotation and would be asked to lead once a month.  Singing time takes the first 20 minutes of Sunday mornings (9:30 – 9:50 A.M.)  This allows the worship leader to join adult worship before the message begins.  We are open to adults or teens (even working in pairs) taking this role.  If interested, contact Stacy Hoffman (869-8114 or office@demottearc.com).

DUTCH APPLE PIE ORDERS ARE DUE NEXT SUNDAY!  They are $11.00 each with funds going to provide African Bible Translations so people in Africa who are hungering for God's Word can have a Bible in their own language.  Help support this important Bible League mission!  Extra order forms can be found on the table across from the kitchen.

TRAINING CONTINUES!  Please continue to pray for our runners as they train for the Indy Monumental Marathon and Half Marathon in November.  They are working with Team World Vision to help raise money for clean water for communities in need in underdeveloped countries.  If you’d like to donate, go online to Team World Vision and search American Reformed Church.  You can donate on behalf of a specific runner or the team as a whole.
