YOU ARE INVITED to join in a season of prayer leading up to Christmas. We are asking God to bring revival, new life, and kingdom growth to our church, our community, our families, our region, and our world. Each day will have a different focus:
Sunday: Pray for our church
Monday: Pray for your family
Tuesday: Pray for our community
Wednesday: Pray for our region
Thursday: Pray for missionaries
Friday: Pray for confession and forgiveness
Saturday Free day (pray as you feel led)
We are eager to see how God will use this season of prayer to make a big Kingdom impact!
MEN’S LIFE is a men’s group that meets fall and spring on Saturdays from 6:00 – 7:30 A.M. in the Fireside Room. This year we have an exciting new video program by Author Craig Glass – Noble Journey. His vision is to see a growing community of men who: understand their identity in Christ, embrace their role as men, and live out the personal calling God has for their life. Men from our church and the community are invited to attend. Join us this Saturday.
ATTENTION SINGERS! We will be starting a Christmas choir beginning on November 4. This group will meet each week at 11:30 A.M. on Sunday for practice, and will share a song each Sunday during the Advent season beginning on November 25. If you would like to be part of the Christmas Choir, you can sign up by emailing Brittany at brittany@demottearc.com or by signing up on the sign up sheet located on the bulletin board by the kitchen. This group is open to anyone from 3rd grade – senior adults. No experience necessary!
Let’s Get Together!
The new Fall season has begun at ARC. The “Get Together” program is ready for new hosts and repeat hosts to hold gatherings. Have you considered hosting? The program is in need of additional hosts in order to reach a greater amount of people. The purpose of “Get Together” is to strengthen ties with other ARC members, welcome newcomers and engage in fellowship and fun.
How does it work?
· STEP ONE: Hosts volunteer by filling out a form found in the Get Together tray on the table by the kitchen or by calling/texting Kristi (219-964-9957 or 987-5195) or Donna (219-730-9824 or 987-4289). Get togethers can be as simple or as involved as the host desires… bonfire, pizza night, carry-in dinner, coffee and cards… whatever’s comfortable!
· STEP TWO: The committee compiles a mix of people for a one-time get together for the host matching the type of gathering the host would like to hold and gives the host invitations to fill out.
· STEP THREE: The hosts fill out the invitations and put them in mailboxes.
· STEP FOUR: Guests reply to hosts. This is important for the hosts so they know how many to plan on. When you receive info about a Get Together, please let the host know whether or not you will be attending.
· STEP FIVE: The group Gets Together and enjoy some time with one another!
What a blessing to be part of the family of God here at ARC! Let’s be deliberate about forming relationships and intentional in showing interest in one another. Let’s Get Together!
WOULD YOU LIKE to receive ARC updates and cancellation info via text message? Now you can! Just text @demottearc to 81010. Please note: you cannot send messages to the pastors or the church office through text.
THE LOCAL WOMEN’S SHELTER is in great need of supplies. They could use toiletry items, housewares such as kitchen items and bedding, furniture, and any household item you have to spare. The only things they are not accepting are mattresses and clothing. If you have anything to donate, please contact Tammy Szostek (219-895-1334).
COAT DRIVE: COLLECTED UNTIL THIS THURSDAY! Boxes are in the Fireside Room and the entrance at door #8 for your donations of coats, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, boots and gloves. Items collected will be distributed between The Crisis Center in Rensselaer and various shelters and soup kitchens in Lake County and Porter County. If you have questions please contact Bob & Phyllis Belstra.
FAITHFIT YOGA at American Reformed continues this Tuesday! FaithFit Yoga provides a faith based atmosphere to promote health, happiness, and well-being in the community. Because the body is the temple, we strive to nurture our health while bringing our participants closer to Christ through yoga. Two Tuesday class times are offered, 6:00 & 7:15 P.M. Check the flyer in the kitchen window for more info!
