POINSETTIAS are ready to be ordered!  Every Christmas, we decorate our Sanctuary with poinsettias which can be purchased in memory or honor of a loved one.  After, the Christmas Eve Service, you are welcome to take your poinsettia home.  They are available in white this year and the cost is $8.00.  Order forms were placed in your mailbox last week and additional forms are in the kitchen window.  Please return them to Ann Kikkert’s mailbox by next Sunday, Dec. 8.

DEMOTTE WORK TEAM PROJECT:  On January 16, the DeMotte Work Team will be leaving for Nicaragua for this year’s project, about a six hour ride from Managua.  Our project is to replace the roofs of four school buildings that are rotten and leaking.  This year, four men from ARC are going.  Steve Szostek, Dan Brodner, Marv Peterson, and our new member, Brandon DeYoung.  We ask for your prayers while we are away for safety on and off the job.  We also ask for your consideration to help with the cost of project materials so we can accomplish our goal on December 8 with our special offering.  Thanks for your support of our team.  God has always provided and we know He will again this year.  Flyers are in your mailbox explaining the project.

                                             – Brandon, Steve, Dan and Marv

SOMETHING EXCITING is happening at the south side of our church parking lot as construction has started for a new pavilion.  Adam Collard from Demotte has elected to build our pavilion as a service project requirement to become an Eagle Scout.  The Eagle Scout service project is an opportunity to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community.  This is a culmination of the Scout's leadership training, and it requires a significant effort on his part.  All materials and labor are generously provided through donations.  Adam is continuing to raise funds for materials; therefore, any donations would be appreciated.  The pavilion will be used for church events such as VBS and Sunday School Fall Kickoff.  Expected completion is spring 2020.  If you know Adam or see volunteers working on the project (usually on Saturday mornings), please thank him for choosing us to receive this project and for all the hard work he and the volunteers he is leading are doing.

HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO HELP at a Soup Kitchen or meet and talk with homeless people?  We have reserved Saturday, December 7 to help at the 1st Presbyterian Soup Kitchen in Michigan City.  We will help prepare a hot meal, serve it, talk with the less fortunate who come and distribute some of the coats etc. collected during the coat drive.  If you would like to carpool, we plan to leave church at 8:15.
FYI: There are fifteen steps to get down to the soup kitchen.  There is a sign-up sheet on your way to coffee if you would like to help.  The organizers request no more than 15 people over the age of 17.  If you have questions, please call Bob & Phyllis Belstra (987-2563).

SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGERS NEEDED!  The KVMA is again this year coordinating a special mission of mercy outreach.  We will partner with the Salvation Army by placing a bucket at Tysen’s Grocery.  Our church has been asked to fill the bell ringer schedule for Sat., Dec. 21.  A signup sheet for one hour slots beginning at 9:00 A.M. and running through 7:00 P.M. is located by the kitchen.

WE NEED COOKS!  We are looking for people to prepare Wednesday Night dinners for the month of February.  If you’d like to take a week, please sign up on the sheet down by the kitchen.

WE ARE LOOKING for one leader for Children’s Church lessons!  This would be for ages 3-1st grade.  Leaders are asked to teach once every 6 weeks.  If interested, please contact Stacy Hoffman (869-8114 or office@demottearc.com).

IN HIS LETTER to the believers in Philippi, Paul wrote, "I thank my God every time I remember you...because of your partnership in the gospel...".  And so do I thank you for being a valued partner in the gospel as you have faithfully prayed and have given financially to the work the Lord is doing in Ireland.  Thank you for praying for me as I make this transition from Ireland back to the States.  It has been a difficult few months, but in the midst of all that has transpired I have felt the mercy and grace of a loving Heavenly Father.  Your prayers are valued as I continue to make this transition!

In our Saviour's love, Jessie Van Schepen”
