THE REGULAR OFFERING will be received for the General Fund.

9:30 A.M.  CHILDREN’S CHURCH for kids 3 years old through 5th grade will meet in the Promiseland Area.

10:45 – 11:45 A.M.  SUNDAY SCHOOL for all ages.

(Parents:  please pick your child up in his/her classroom.)   

  3 yr. old – 12th grade will meet in their respective classrooms.

  CURRENT EVENTS:  A group that discusses current events will meet in the Cry Room.

  ADULTING will meet in the Consistory Room.

  Nursery is available upon request.

THE SUNDAY EVENING PRAYER/BIBLE STUDY GROUP is currently taking a break.  They will meet again on March 17. 

CHURCH DIRECTORIES were placed in mailboxes last week for all who had photos taken with Lifetouch.  If you didn’t receive a printed directory and would like one, they can be purchased from the church office for $10.00.

ATTENTION CAMPERS!  We are looking to bring the church campout back!  There is a signup sheet by the Fellowship Hall where you can sign up if you’re interested and give ideas of where you’d like to camp.  We will go from there with planning a fun weekend!  Questions?  Speak with Leslie Tysen.

 

"In Christ, She…"  

We are excited to invite women post-high school and above to a women's retreat on April 12-13 at Connect Christian Camp and Retreat Center in Crown Point.  We will explore what it looks like to ground our identity in Christ and allow that reality to permeate every aspect of our lives.  The retreat will begin at 6:00 P.M. on Friday and conclude at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday.  The cost is $45.  If you have more questions, come see us in the Fellowship Hall after worship.  We have additional information and registration forms and would love to answer any questions you may have.

COMING SOON:  Our Annual Request Program hosted by the RCWM will be on Sunday, April 7 at 6:00 P.M.  We are now taking your requests!  Request forms were placed in mailboxes last week.  Please fill them out with who you are requesting, what you would like them to do, and contact info (if not a member of ARC) and return to one of the drop boxes by the kitchen or in the foyer at the back of the sanctuary. Additional forms are also located by the drop boxes.  The request deadline is March 17.

  • “Forward” High School Summer Trip dates are June 23-29.

 EASTER FLOWERS are ready to be ordered!  Every Easter, we decorate our Sanctuary with flowers which can be purchased in memory or honor of a loved one.  After the Easter Sunday Service, you are welcome to take your flower home.  They are available in many varieties this year:  Tulips ($9.50), Hyacinth ($9.50), Daffodils ($9.50), Lilies ($10.50), Azaleas ($17.00), Mums ($10.00).  Order forms are in the kitchen window.  Please return them to Jerry & Diane Veld’s mailbox by next Sunday, March 17.   

 BRING BACK THE ARC NEWSLETTER:  We’ve had some requests to bring back this informative newsletter about things going on in our church family.  Typical article topics would include youth activities, getting to know new members, mission trips, pastor columns, etc. We are looking for committee members to help with gathering information, writing articles, and most importantly, we are looking for an editor who will oversee the committee and delegate tasks.  If this is something you’re interested in, please contact Roy Gouwens or Stacy Hoffman for more information.

  • WE’VE HOSTED our first two Mobile Food Pantries of 2019.  We will host our last two pantries for this year in September and November.  The price of hosting has increased this year with each pantry date now costing $1,500.  If you would like to help offset the cost, you are welcome to designate financial gifts in the offering.  Thank you for your support!

CAMP MANITOQUA REGISTRATION FOR 2019 IS OPEN!    This year’s theme is “Imago Dei:  The Image of God” based on Isaiah 43:1.  Church will again pay 2/3 for members and non-members.  You can register online at manitoqua.org.  Informational brochures are available in the kitchen window.  Please call the church office for the coupon code.

 SUDS FOR A CAUSE fundraiser is going on now through March 18!  Contact any DMC or CCHS student to order or visit the DMCS website at demottechristianschools.org, click on the calendar, click on a “Suds For A Cause” date, and view the attachment.  Order pick up is at DMC on April 4 from 2:45-4:00 P.M. 

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT:  Learn how to identify if your youth is at risk for alcohol use, drug use, and more.  Purdue Extension and The Partners for a Drug Free Jasper County are offering a free program on Wednesday, March 13 at 6:00 P.M. in the K.V. Middle School Cafeteria (5258 W. S.R. 10, Wheatfield) for anyone interesting in learning about this topic.  RSVP to the Purdue Extension office at (219)866-5741 or smit1357@purdue.edu.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED about being a hospice volunteer?  VNA of NWI has openings for volunteers to visit patients in the DeMotte and Jasper County area.  The most important qualifications for a VNA Hospice volunteer are a compassionate heart, love of life, and the ability to really listen and be there for a patient.  If this sounds like you, give us a call!  Training is available in the Lake County area now.  Please contact VNA Volunteer Services Coordinator, Erica at 219-531-8057 or by email at ekerkes@vnanwi.org to get started today!
