 WEEKLY MEETINGS

 MONDAY – August 23

7:00 P.M.  THE TRANSITION TEAM will meet in the Consistory Room.  Please continue to pray for ARC’s revitalization process.  Members are Pastor Troy, Matt Kallemeyn, Dave Kampenga, Angela Myers, Tim Steinke, John Schultheis, Tim Zylstra, and Stacy Hoffman.

TUESDAY – August 24

10:00 A.M.  PRAYER FOR REVITALIZATION will take place in the Consistory Room.  Pastor Troy will lead a time of prayer (about 30 minutes) for the revitalization process of ARC.  We encourage all to             come participate!

AL GRUBE WENT TO HIS HEAVENLY HOME on Friday morning.  A private service will be held for immediate family.  Arlene and her family thank you for all the prayers and loving kindness shown during           his illness.

A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING is set for next Sunday, August 29 after worship.  The purpose of the meeting is to have discussion and receive input from the congregation about the Consistory’s recommendations regarding our denomination.  If you have not yet received the letter (dated August 16) sent by Pastor Troy and the Consistory, please contact the church office.

 WE ARE EXCITED to be able to once again offer Kids Hope at DeMotte Elementary school this school year.  If you have already been trained as a mentor, please let Heather Veld or Pastor Troy know if you are interested in mentoring this year.  

WE ALSO HAVE A LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY for someone to    co-lead Kids Hope with Heather.  We are looking for someone who can handle the administrative and communications for our Kids Hope ministry.  This will include creating schedules, emailing teachers and mentors, and coordinating trainings.  If you are interested, please talk to Heather Veld or Pastor Troy.

DUTCH APPLE PIES ARE BACK!  The Bible League will be again selling their delicious apple pies for $12.00.  Proceeds from the pies will help fund African Translations so people in Africa who are hungering for God's Word can have a Bible in their own language.  The order deadline is September 19, with delivery pickup on       October 13 between 3:00 - 5:00 P.M.  Order forms with payment can be placed in Stacy Hoffman’s mailbox.  We are asking for all to support this project with your prayers.  Also, if anyone can help make pies on October 11 and/or 12 please let us know.... if you can come for only a couple of hours at a time, please help us out. Order forms are in your mailboxes today with extra forms available in the kitchen window. 

TRAINING CONTINUESWe are working hard to bring clean water to communities in need in underdeveloped countries through Team World Vision.  We will participate in the Indy Monumental Marathon on November 6 and appreciate all donations for clean water.  You can donate on behalf of a specific runner or give a gift to the ARC Team as a whole by designating gifts in the offering or going to teamworldvision.org and searching American Reformed Church.  You can also support us by keeping us in your prayers as we train and praying for all who are in desperate need of clean water.

 2021 JOG-A-THON:  It’s back!  Covenant Service Committee is once again hosting the annual Jog-a-thon.

ON SEPTEMBER 25, Bible League Volunteers will host a morning conference for you called Spreading the Fragrance of Life.  You will be enriched with spiritual encouragement as Dr. Lynn Wilder, former Mormon now Bible-believing Christian speaks in multiple sessions.  Also joining the conference is Pastor Thony Ronaldo from Indonesia, to give you an opportunity to partner in providing Scripture engagement around the world, an offering will be taken for Bible League International ministry.  The registration cost of $20 covers expenses.  Sign up online at bibleleague.org/tickets today.
