OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

WE EXPRESS our sympathy to Art & Sheryl Peterson as well as all family and friends on the passing of Sheryl’s father Walter (Roy) Sullivan.    Roy went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 12.  Visitation will be tomorrow, August 16 from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Boersma Funeral Home with a service following at 7:00 P.M.  May God grant comfort during this difficult time.

WE WILL HAVE A BRIEF informational meeting after worship this morning.  It will begin about 5 minutes after worship concludes.  Pastor Troy will update us on a couple of things.  First, he’ll give brief updates on the search for a Youth Pastor and Worship Director.  Second, he’ll share some updated information regarding our denomination, the Reformed Church in America, it's General Synod Meeting which is happening in October, and the report that will be presented to General Synod about a path forward for our denomination in light of disagreements related to issues of marriage, gender, and sexuality as well as our governing structure as a denomination.  This is to give context for a recommendation that the Consistory will be sending out this week about how this impacts us as a church and what choices and decisions we are recommending we make in light of this.  We will then have a special congregational meeting on Sunday, August 29 after worship to discuss those recommendations and get input from the congregation.  Please reach out to Pastor Troy with any questions you have.
