THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, we want to give back to our community by blessing the families of DeMotte Elementary School who have some needs.  We want to provide winter clothing and other items that can be given out at school to students in need.  There is a list of the items we will be collecting on the bulletin board by the women’s restroom downstairs.  Take a tag for the item you would like to purchase and bring the item to church (drop off in Fireside Room), along with your tag, no later than December 10.

O Holy Night

YOU ARE INVITED to join in a season of prayer leading up to Christmas.  We are asking God to bring revival, new life, and kingdom growth to our church, our community, our families, our region, and our world.  Each day will have a different focus:

Sunday:          Pray for our church

Monday:          Pray for your family

Tuesday:        Pray for our community

Wednesday:   Pray for our region

Thursday:      Pray for missionaries

Friday:           Pray for confession and forgiveness

Saturday        Free day (pray as you feel led)

We are eager to see how God will use this season of prayer to make a big Kingdom impact!

WE EXPRESS sympathy to Sandy Nannenga, the Matt & Debbie Luedtke Family, and all family and friends on the passing of our brother in Christ, Jim Nannenga.  Jim went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 15.  May God grant comfort during this difficult time.

THE FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE will meet today after worship in the Cry Room.

POINSETTIAS are ready to be ordered!  Every Christmas, we decorate our Sanctuary with poinsettias which can be purchased in memory or honor of a loved one.  After, the Christmas Eve Service, you are welcome to take your poinsettia home.  They are available in white this year and come in two sizes, 6” ($8.00) and 8” ($15.00).  Order forms are in your mailboxes today.  Additional forms are in the kitchen window.  Please return them to Ann Kikkert’s mailbox by Wednesday, December 28.

SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGERS NEEDED!  The KVMA is again this year coordinating a special mission of mercy outreach.  We will partner with the Salvation Army by placing a bucket at Tysen’s Grocery.  Our church has been asked to fill the bell ringer schedule for Sat., Dec. 22.  A signup sheet for one hour slots beginning at 9:00 A.M. and running through 7:00 P.M. is located by the kitchen.

THANK YOU to everyone who donated coats, etc. to the coat drive.  The response was amazing again.  Thanks to Pastor Rob for taking donations to a Soup Kitchen/ Homeless Shelter in Hammond.  Most of the donations have been delivered but we plan to bring the rest to the 1ST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SOUP KITCHEN IN MICHIGAN CITY ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP AT THE SOUP KITCHEN PLEASE SIGN THE SHEET BY THE KITCHEN.  The kitchen coordinator requests a maximum of 12 volunteers over the age of 17.  If you have questions please contact Bob or Phyllis Belstra.
