6:00 P.M. TOUCH OF DUTCH COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICE: When the Touch of Dutch Festival is over, there’s still an opportunity to worship! Join us as the Christian community in DeMotte for a community worship service, sponsored by the local Ministerial Association, at Spencer Park. Please bring your own lawn chair as we enjoy a time of praise, prayer, and encouragement from God’s Word! As we’ve done in the past, we will also encourage bringing food donations for the local food pantry. Look forward to seeing you there!

♦ Bonnie Stevenson’s last biopsy showed no signs of leukemia and she was able to return home from the hospital.
♦ Marty Musch had surgery on his heart this past Friday at Pinnacle Hospital. He is doing well.
WE EXPRESS sympathy to Larry & Pat Wiers and Brian Amie, and Caleb Wiers as well as all family and friends on the passing of Reba Wiers. Reba went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 29. Services were held at Jackson’s this past week. May God grant comfort during this difficult time.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH LEADERS NEEDED: We are looking for a few leaders to teach during Children’s Church. We need 2 leaders for our older group (2nd-5th grade) and one for our younger group (3 years old – 1st grade). Leaders are asked to lead once every 6 weeks with teaching material provided. This is definitely a fun and important way to invest in the youth of ARC! HAVE YOU CONSIDERED hosting an ARC Get Together? Now is the time to volunteer. The Get Together program is in need of additional hosts to open their homes for a time of fellowship with a group of ARC family. You choose the date and type of get together you’d like to have, and the committee will provide you with a list of people and some invitations. KIDS HOPE USA: We are excited to continue building relationships with the students, teachers and staff at DeMotte Elementary and KV Intermediate Schools. Last year was a great school year, and we are confident we will need more mentors who can invest one hour each week in the life of one child. Training is provided. Will you be the one to help change the life of a child? If you are interested in being a mentor, substitute mentor or prayer partner, please pick up an application packet from the table by the kitchen. Completed applications can be returned directly to Kara Nanninga or Heather Veld or put in either of their mailboxes. Questions? TRAINING IS UNDERWAY! We are working hard to bring clean water to communities in need in underdeveloped countries through Team World Vision. We will participate in the Indy Monumental Marathon on November 9 and appreciate all donations for clean water. You can donate on behalf of a specific runner or give a gift to the ARC Team as a whole by designating gifts in the offering or going to Team World Vision and searching American Reformed Church. You can also support us by keeping us in your prayers as we train and praying for all who are in desperate need of clean water.

DEMOTTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL will begin their 73rd year on August 14 at 7:45 A.M. We extend an invitation to our parents, grandparents, and society members to join us for the opening chapel our first day of school at 8:10 A.M. in the All-purpose Room. We ask that you continue to uphold DMC in your daily prayers as we celebrate 73 years of God’s blessings!
WATCH FOR FLAMINGOS making their landing in the yards of Knights’ basketball supporters! Our lady Knights have three flocks of birds taking flight on August 3. If the birds nest in your yard, follow the contact instructions attached to the flamingos to have them removed in exchange for a donation. Have a donation ready to send the birds off to a new destination of your choosing – you choose a Knights fan to be the next recipient of the birds as this game continues. The Knights flocks will be migrating August 3-16. The flamingos will make their final landing at Covenant Christian High School on August 17 for a car wash. Bring your vehicle and our Lady Knights will suds up and clean up your vehicle for a free will donation. The car wash will be at CCHS on Saturday, August 17 from 8:00-12:00.
JASPER COUNTY MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT: You’re invited to the Rensselaer Central VS Kankakee Valley High School Football Game at Harrison Field in Rensselaer on Friday, August 23. There will be free admission for veterans and a guest, and you are asked to arrive at about 6:15 P.M. Sing the National Anthem with Jim Cornelison, singer for the Chicago Blackhawks. This will be a memorable night and we hope to see all our veterans there!
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE for Sing! Chicagoland with the Getty’s. Bible League Volunteers invite you to the special Morning Summit from 9:00 A.M. – Noon., and a special Getty Kids Workshop from 11:00 A.M. – Noon (Summit is free with registration). The date is Thursday, October 24 in Crown Point, IN. The exciting evening concert will feature a choir comprised of local area churches singing with the famous Getty’s and their Irish-American band. bibleleague.org/tickets
